With so many extracurricular options, what makes KYF® the best (& most family-friendly!) non-competition cheer choice?
* KYF® cheer squads can be mixed ages, so that younger & older sisters, family, & friends may still cheer together for their player-brother's team, keeping families united. KYF® allows cheerleaders ages 4 through 6th grade.
* Girls are allowed to cheer for any open squad in KYF® that they choose! They may join a squad to cheer with friends or family in a different school area or age division. Recruiting your family & friends to grow your squads is highly encouraged!
* Each squad determines its own unique practice location, dates, & times, so that it can be as convenient as possible to your area & schedules.
* All cheerleaders, whether their football team makes it to the finals or not, get to cheer in the championship Turf Bowl game at the end of the season in Rhodes Stadium! The girls love seeing themselves on the Jumbotron!
* All cheerleaders attend Cheer Camp together on August 8th to learn arm motions, jumps, & general cheer skills. It's a great initial squad bonding experience and allows everyone to start off on the same footing. (Camp is included in the registration fee, & Camp shirts are $15.)
* Our new cheer uniform design is updated & on-trend! We also include longer boyshort-style briefs and two sparkly metallic poms. These uniforms are custom sewn for each girl, so please come to one of our walk-up events this May to get fitted or contact our Cheer Uniform Chair for detailed fitting information: CheerUniforms@katyyouthfootball.com [You must register by June 30th to be guaranteed your uniform by the 1st game.]
* As Katy’s oldest youth football program, KYF® has always existed as a nonprofit organization and is committed to helping people & bringing families together. KYF® works closely with the Katy Independent School District to insure alignment of our league’s goals with the best practices for teaching our student athletes fundamental techniques.
